It’s Tulip Time in Holland, Michigan. Every year, in this picturesque town, thousands of tourists arrive to view the Tulip Festival in early May. Flat Hitty and her friends decided to check it out. In the 19th century, settlers from the Netherlands brought their unique culture to Holland (see Kitty at Dutch Village). Planting tulip bulbs each year is a tradition that continues to this day.

The girls went to a park called, “Window on the Waterfront.” The park has multiple tulip beds and walkways showcasing 100,000 tulips. You can take a virtual tour on the park’s website.

Hitty Sis had never seen so many tulips in one place before!

The girls enjoyed walking along all the paths surrounded by tulips of every shape and color imaginable.

Each doll decided to have a picture taken in front of her favorite flowers. Hitty Sienna chose the purple ones.

Flat Hitty preferred the simplicity of the white tulips.

Hitty Sienna admired them as well. Doesn’t her Dutch cap look a lot like a tulip?

Hitty Sis picked the pink and yellow tulips to match her dress.
